‘it’s just a walk in a park Gedansky’…
Tonight the wind was light so instead of walking on the track in the gym tonight, I decided to take a walk outside. As I headed out of the dorm, I noticed there was mist in the air. It made the 46 degrees feel even cooler… more chilling than watching The 39 Steps for the first time.
The moon kept me company as I walked down towards the ocean. It took about 15min to get to the end of the road and see the Pacific. I turned and started back up the hill back to the main part of the Island. By the time I got back to my dorm room, my face was red from the mist being blown into my face. I hope to do this often. The cold mist was something I cant put into words besides exhilarating. Not even a peppermint Patti could be so refreshing!

After 3 days… I still see fog
Fog… fog… fog… The forecast for today calls for FOG. (and a little wind)
This is a picture of the dorm I live in. As you look at the building I am on the bottom floor all the way to the right. It is a dark brown building. the fog is so thick you cant see 5 feet in front of you. Very strange weather.
The fog here on Shemya is caused by the difference in temperature from the cold Bearing sea to the slightly warmer Pacific ocean.
FUN FACT OF THE DAY: If you stand in the right spot and look hard into the fog long enough, eventually you will be hit by a truck…
It is so foggy, that it is foggy in my dorm room…
Ok, so I fogged up the lens on my camera, but you get the picture. It stays foggy here pretty much all year round. Maybe you can make out a smile.
Also about the wind here, you never know how windy it is because one is used to gauging the wind strength by how much a tree is moving. Without trees this is difficult. One is never concerned about a weather forecast because it will change in minutes. There is no way to describe this weather, one must experience it.
As a very good friend says in her blog on a weekly basis…
Wish you were here!

Time flies and so do I…
Well this is it… my last night in Florida and the south of the US in general. No more zip code that begins with a 3!!!!
I am excited about this trip and starting my new job. For those who don’t know, I will be on a little island at the west end of the Aleutians.
While I am there, maybe its time to get evil in the cold…Evil has so much going for it. Evil fights dirty. Evil gets to wear black, which is slimming, which is good since it comes with cookies.

North… to Alaska!
That’s right! The Lawful Ghoul is heading north and very west!
Change of job and it is time to move again. This time to the harsh climate of the bearing sea. No, not to be on a crab boat, but on a tiny island way out at the end of the Aleutians! At least I will be far away from the banjos and zombies!
I will use this as a place to update my exploits. I am not a fan of FaceBook, so there will not be any going back there.

Wurm Attack
Hundreds of c
hildren were in tears today after witnessing a devastating Angry Wurm attack that involved the famous 7-foot yellow bird from Sesame Street, Big Bird.
The sound of a cheerful song of “La La La” was cut short as an Angry Wurm took out Mr. Hooper’s store and initiated the mating dance with Big Bird. Onlookers watched helplessly as the estimated 45 foot long giant assaulted their beloved Bird. Bird’s bright yellow plumage apparently confused the Wurm into thinking it was a female of its own kind. After several unsuccessful attempts to mate with its significantly smaller partner, the Wurm finally lost interest and left a mangled Big Bird, barely conscious and in shock, lying on the Street. As veterinarians arrived on the scene, Big Bird’s cries of ‘What was he trying to do Gordon?” were left unanswered by the stunned witnesses, and Bird was loaded into the ambulance.
Big Bird’s closest companion, Mr. Snuffleupagus, expressed great regret for his friend over the harrowing incident. “if anyone touches you in a way you don’t like, you should always tell a grown up right away!” He told reporters, “But if the whole town is watching already I guess there’s really no point.”
Surprisingly enough, Snuffleupagas was later spotted near the scene of the crime after painting himself a bright yellow. He denied any implications that he had been trying to attract the Angry Wurm. “I’m not. In fact I’m not even Snuffleupagus. I’m only make believe.”
